Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Vaunda Munson Willis completed her mission in this life February 27, 2010 in Glenwood, Utah. She was born April 19, 1936 in Richfield, the youngest of nine children, to Lewis Leo and Hortense Cope Munson.
Vaunda grew up in Escalante. She married Elwood Willis on January 13, 1956 in the St. George Temple.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many leadership and music callings. Vaunda and Elwood served in the Spain Bilbao Mission. Her many years of service in the Manti Temple as an ordinance worker were among her favorite and most rewarding experiences.
Vaunda will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for her smiles, hugs, songs, games, cookies, bread, quilts and most of all “grammy jammies.”
She is survived by her husband, Elwood and their children: Laureen (Kevin) Curtis of Alpine; Lynn (Katarina) Willis of Farmington; Lisa (Robert) Calvert of Henderson, NV; and Lori (Phillip) Chadwick of Pleasant Grove; 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters LoRee Shurtz, Orpha Spencer; brothers, Lloyd (Faye) Munson, Howard (LaNia) Munson; sisters-in-law Lillian and Nelda and brother-in-law Hal Woolsey.
Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Voyle and LoRell; sisters, Evelyn and Lasca; granddaughter, Alecia and great-granddaughter Kadee Ann.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Glenwood Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 225 East Center Street, Glenwood. Friends may call Friday, March 5 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West Richfield and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Ward.
